Are you ready to take the helm of a vibrant engineering ecosystem? We’re on the lookout for a seasoned VP of Engineering to spearhead our growing team of ten (and counting!) engineering squads. As a key leader, you’ll be instrumental in shaping our technical vision, strategy, and execution while propelling our platform’s expansion globally across diverse sectors including consumer credit, discounts, employment products, and more.
My client is a Series B Tech-driven company who are embarking on international expansion with their product – they are already operating commercially in Europe and North America. The leadership of their Software Engineering team is going to be key for driving this growth. Cultivating a collaborative, innovative and inclusive culture across the Engineering Team is a key objective for the company.
Your Responsibilities:
- Build & Lead three squads of engineers across backend (Golang software development), frontend (ReactJS and NextJS frontend software development), and cloud (SRE, Kubernetes, Docker, GCP, and AWS).
- Collaborate closely with the CTO to nurture, and optimize our engineering squads, encompassing hiring, mentoring, and performance management.
- Partner with the CTO and senior leadership to craft and execute a robust technical roadmap for the Engineering Tech Stack aligned with business objectives.
- Engage cross-functionally with product, design, and operations teams to prioritize and deliver impactful features and enhancements.
- Cultivate and refine engineering best practices, processes, and standards to ensure top-notch, scalable, and maintainable code.
- Champion continuous improvement in software development methodologies and tools to enhance efficiency and velocity.
- Ensure platform security, compliance, and regulatory standards are met and maintained.
- Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of our platform and infrastructure, from architecture and development to testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Monitor system performance and implement optimizations to bolster scalability and reliability.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, assessing their potential impact on our product and business strategy.
- Act as a beacon of technical excellence within the organization and the broader tech community, positioning us as a thought leader in the field.
What We’re Looking For:
- Proven track record of engineering leadership within a scaling technology company.
- Proficiency in modern software development, architecture, and infrastructure technologies (ideally Google-based techs – GoLang, BigQuery, GCP)
